It’s hot glue. They use it to assemble the 12 pack (24 pack, etc.) box. In high school I had a temp job at a beer distributor doing that. Made a hell of a mess, and I went home with burned fingers every day. But, I learned how to put cans in a six-pack ring, so there’s that.
