Plannin' On It
I can't guarantee I'll do it, but I'm plannin' on it.
Memes are Work
I work as a “senior interactive developer” for a media (primarily newspaper) company. Mostly I do iOS development, though I’m also responsible for anything feed-related (RSS or otherwise) that we do.
Mostly I write code every day. I’m not much of a designer, but I know just enough about user experience to be irritating in meetings. I have some say in what features we add, and more say in the roadmap for when features get released.
There was a time I kinda hated it here, but since I started doing iOS programming I kinda like it. Everybody tends to leave me alone and let me do my thing. My bosses are generally happy with my work. I’ve had the opportunity to talk with people at larger newspapers that have used our app and wanted to know how we did it. It’s nice to get a bit of recognition that what we’re doing doesn’t completely suck.
In an industry that’s dying a slow, painful death, a little recognition helps to deaden the pain. Recognition and vodka.
